Now that you know how to choose a domain, a server, and design your website the next step is to market it!

1) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a critical part of any website marketing strategy. SEO is the active practice of optimizing a web site by improving both its external and internal aspects and draw increased traffic from search engines. Pay Per Click (PPC) is another effective marketing tool for your website. PPC is an advertising model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content sites such as online journals, publications/newspapers/blogs. The advertiser only pays when his ad is clicked.

2) The Social media website marketing strategy is information content created by those who are using publishing technologies that are highly accessible and draw interaction with the public. This is most often done on the web and or mobile communication networks. Facebook and Twitter are excellent examples of Social Media. Social Media is relatively inexpensive compared to industrial media such as newspapers and television.

3) Blog marketing is the incorporation of blogging on an interesting topic in a way that attracts the attention of those trafficking the blog along with advertising for your website. The key to successful blog marketing is to find talented bloggers that have good reach, independence, and credibility.

4) Paid advertising ( PPC) is important because it has the reputation for bringing quicker results. The key to successful paid advertising is targeting an audience that would be receptive to your products and website. Paid advertising is a way to assure that your website would be at the top of any search engine results. Directories (Such as dmoz.org) are the Twenty-First Century version of the Yellow Pages. Directories are specific and targeted and a great way to attract those who are searching you out!

5) Email marketing campaigns are direct and cost effective and a great way of promoting your business. Email campaigns are smart in that they are highly targeted. The email marketing techniques have never been more advanced than they are today and can be built to meet your specific requirements.

Hiring a marketing company is also a great idea to promote your website. A good marketing company will give you such advantages as outside/independent opinions and analysis of your needs along with the performance of functions that you are not handling.

Successful marketing is the lifeblood of your future website’s success!

Since web 2.0’s inception, the way we communicate on the web through social networks has changed, and continues to do such. Twitter is the latest phenomena to sweep through the landscape and it continues to gobble up users at an alarming rate.

Nielsen Online, leader in online tracking and reporting, indicates that Twitter grew 1,300+% year-over-year in February, registering a total of just more than 7 million unique visitors in the US for the month. Not only is that staggering growth over the course of just one year, but also in January, Twitter.com, clocked in with 4.5 million unique visitors in the US, meaning the service grew by more than 50 percent month-over-month.

What this means if you’re selling a product or service is that Twitter is another (free) median to communicate to your audience and extend your brand. Besides being free, one thing about Twitter being very ‘in the moment’ right now is that people look forward to “@replies” or direct messaging, especially as they try to build their followers or people receptive to their message.

How do you get going and capture a costumer through Twitter? Here are 5 simple tips to Market using Twitter:

1) Register a user account for Twitter.com and start connecting with people, brands, or companies within your space by “following” them. I generally try to grab my brand as my user name, but keywords don’t hurt you within the URL either – why not ride off the coat tails of Twitter’s massive link popularity? Many people also brand the wallpaper – leaving their contact information clearly visible in the background.

2) Add a personal touch – Generally, I use personal images or an appropriate logo for my Twitter accounts. I like to see whom I am talking to, and so do your customers. Take advantage of the bio lines and add a brief description about your business and put a clean link in there. Simple and direct works best here.

3) Leave good content within your “tweets” and occasionally, add a link back to your site or blog for continued/further reading on the topic. Obtaining a small but steadily growing group of natural followers by adding value will benefit your company’s visibility. Nobody wants to sift through endless “Click here for more!” spam, so use links appropriately and sparingly.

4) Ask intriguing, open-ended questions and provide expertise responses by actively using the service. You can “@Reply” several people at once when replying or asking questions – this is a fast time saver and an efficient way to communicate.

5) Be realistic about the outcome - Be patient and slowly let things take their course. You can’t make 500 new people follow you in 1 day, but what you can do is add value to Twitter and ask good questions, and the followers will come.

Mozilla Firefox is one of the most widely used web browsers in the world, second only to Microsoft Internet Explorer. Many believe Firefox’s popularity is because Google is embedded in Mozilla. It makes browsing easier for users. Google has had a contract with Mozilla for over 2 years now. The agreement would be expiring in 2011, and there are rumors circulating that say the dynamic duo with go their separate ways at the end of the contract.

With the launch of Google Chrome, Mozilla certainly is losing users. Mozilla makes revenues of about $75 million through the contract every year. Google, which is the default search engine in Mozilla, has already taken off with its new browser Google Chrome. Though Google seems to become popular independently, but Google has the major share of the credit in making Mozilla popular.

There is news in the air saying that Google is not planning to renew the agreement, which is set to expire in 2011. This has led Mozilla to think about establishing relationships with similar search engines, in order to raise the same revenue.

Mozilla now seems desperate for partnerships like this. Even though Mozilla is not sure about what Google would do after the agreement expires, they have wisely started looking for alternatives. It is expected that Mozilla will lose a lot if Google withdraws the contract in 2011. Mozilla has now thought about establishing themselves in the mobile platform. They will launch their mobile browser, Fennec, in some of the Nokia phones.

Mozilla has thought of raising their revenue by finding a third party who will pay Mozilla for the opportunity they get through it of being exposed to a big market. Mozilla’s balance sheet seems to be full of Google. Google has made Mozilla the second most used browser after Microsoft’s internet explorer. More than 88% of the revenue of Mozilla is through Google. Mozilla has about 22% of the browser user market, which is after Internet Explorer holding the largest share of 67%.

Mozilla is in a quandary and probably won’t make any major decisions any time soon. However, they are playing safe by keeping several alternatives ready, in case Google does not renew the agreement.

Google has recently lifted the secret veil on their server technology. Google servers are some of the fastest and the most dynamic machines known built with a very organized infrastructure.

They are not directly connected to the clients across the world but through subnets and other server machines. A machine called a load balancer is employed, which sends the clients requests to the servers after it passes the proxy servers.

Such proxy servers also called squid servers in turn send the results to the web server of Google, which coordinates the query execution into an HTML page. Web spidering is employed using data-gathering servers to gather data from the sites on the Web, wherein GoogleBot, which runs on algorithms, is used, for web search.

The servers are maintained with care and security at all times. The specifications of the modern Google servers were classified, as such details were considered sensitive and nontransparent.

However, recent news released conveys that Google servers are X86 PCs which run on Linux operating systems. The power specification is drastically increased to 20 megawatts of power for over 450 thousand servers.

Google servers are huge, vulnerable to faults and failures, and very expensive to maintain the whole system infrastructure unit by unit. Each container that is as big as a shipping container consumes up to 250W with around 1160 servers concisely packed and maintained.

Every server in the container is connected to an independent battery. Google also got the patent for such a built in battery design. The cooling system of these containers is used to keep the temperature low, even though it consumes a lot of power, it is not a factor that can be compromised on.

The efficiency is around 95 percent and is designed with two U racks each with a switch and 8 DIMM memory slots. Each rack consists of around 20 to 40 servers, 1U and the switches in turn connected to two gigabyte switches. These servers run on Nucono P4 processors on a dual Xeon board with a 604-socket. It possesses a combination of AMD and Intel hardware implying increased performance.

Google keeps enhancing their power-efficient servers, which run partly on Intel hardware that consumes the majority of the power.

Google is an Internet search engine giant that provides various kinds of search options like images, maps, etc. Local search is an option that provides the user with results about the place or geographical location associated with the query.

Google uses a structured database wherein searches can be geographically constrained. These local search results are determined by associating the query keywords to appropriate map locations in terms of postal address or even latitude and longitude.

The local search runs on an algorithm associating the query keywords appropriately to a map location and then optimizing the search result to provide reasonable results.

Optimization of local search results is not so efficient when the query is ambiguous or long. However, this option is very helpful to people looking for directions to particular place or monument and to people who seek geographical details about various locations. Nevertheless, Google does not provide a facility to delete or remove a result from the set of search results, which will be helpful to improve results.

In a nutshell, whenever a user provides a query seeking local search results, the user is provided with results like a map with 10 pins or locations pertaining to the most related top businesses related to the query keyword.

The results are plotted as circles and the most relevant results associated to map locations are displayed in the left hand pane. The local search results in Google notes down the IP address of the user and the location qualifiers are used to determine the local results, say a pack of ten, pertaining to the query furnished by the user.

It is observed that when a local geographical qualifier is used, local results were more reasonable in many test cases. Google is trying to improve its algorithms to provide better local search results. In many test cases, results are unrelated to the query when the query is ambiguous, long and complicated.

The latest scoop on the tech circuit is about Google negotiating to merge with the popular social networking and microblogging site, Twitter. Techcrunch maintainer, Michael Arrington has revealed that three sources have lent credibility to this rumor circulating the blogosphere.

In his first post, Arrington said Twitter had rejected a whopping half a billion-dollar offer from Facebook. In a later post, sources from Twitter said the owner wouldn’t sell even for $1 billion.

The main question is whether Google can really profit from this acquisition. Analysts have deduced that this symbiotic relationship can help Google to better its search results and eliminate any possible threats from Twitter due to its rising microblogging superiority.

The positive thing about Twitter is that virtually anyone can use. People discuss everything from products to relationships. Not to be outsmarted; Twitter can smoothly proliferate and broaden its reach remarkably due to this high priority tag. This will probably solve its cash crunch and extend its longevity.

In addition, watching YouTube videos with Twitter would be a great collective experience. The main shortcoming of this proposal is pertaining to AdSense. There is a need to apply AdSense in each property by Google, which implies that Twitter will follow pattern.

Since many people use Twitter outside the standard interface or homepage, Google will have to add the code to the Twitter API. Hence many third party applications like Twhirl and TweetDeck will need ad integration in order to continue using the API.

However, some critics say that IT firms should hesitate to purchase companies in their infant stages and instead return the funds to the shareholders in an annual dividend. This is due to the axiom that social networking organizations are incapable of being monetized.

In the case of Twitter, the easiest way to make some cash would be to allow paid subscription or to seek advertisers. Biz Stone, the cofounder of Twitter has smashed the rumor and has mentioned in his twitter blog that his sole aim was to build an independent, profitable company. This comment was succeeded by Arrington’s blog article about the Goggle-Twitter business deal. He had said that the estimated price was not known but it could be over $250 million.

Rival Silicon Valley technology columnist, Kara Swisher has mentioned in her blog that the two companies have conducted discussions related to product and real-time search engines.

Eric Schmidt, Google chief executive showcased duplicity when he addressed Twitter as a poor man’s mail service and later praising it for its efficiency. Satirical columnists have claimed his comments on Google not planning to buy any company due to global recession and lack of anything particularly itself as a blue print to the soon to be finalized Google-Twitter merging.

Email marketing can give you fast and significant results for your business if you go about it the right way. Part of successfully using email for marketing is to know what and what NOT to do.

This article will go over some specifics about using email marketing to grow your business.

First, it is good to follow the “Golden Rule” of email marketing, which is never use spam, which is now illegal in 18 states and can cause your business heavy fines and being banned in some of those states. Worst of all, however, is that spam has not proven to be an effective strategy.

Other ethical and effective strategies include the collection of email addresses in responsible fashion, providing full contact information for your business, providing a link to your website, using good grammar, and being polite and courteous. While these would seem self-explanatory, we all know that far too many email campaigns lack these basic essentials and are not effective as a result.

Making a firm commitment to an email campaign makes sense for many reasons, first and foremost of all because it has been proven to work. The number of people shopping and buying online continues to grow.

Your first specific strategy should be “Brand Identification.” This is at the core of marketing and the beauty of it is that you can control it when you incorporate it into an email marketing strategy. You want to let people know who you are, what you offer, what you stand for, and to create the best possible image in their minds. Bud Light is not a top selling beer because of its quality; it’s because of Brand Identification!

Another strategy to employ with email marketing is to make the opportunity to develop positive customer relations. If you attract traffic to your website that is only half the battle as you must take advantage of that traffic by offering REAL quality customer service rather than just using the term as an empty phrase. Take full advantage of the traffic that your email campaign brings you by servicing these potential customers to the max!

Along those same lines, take advantage of your email marketing to answer questions from customers and give them detailed reasons why they should do business with you. Be sure and be polite, clear and concise, and easy to understand.

Holding a contest is another excellent email marketing strategy. This is a great method of attracting interaction with customers and building interest in your website.

Finally, always end your email marketing with your signature, which will show clients that you are always online and ready to answer questions and do business!

If you are starting or already operating an online business, blog, website, or community you likely have enough on your plate without also having to write content for it. That leads to the importance of buying unique content for your website and the advantages of doing so that will set your business apart and help it succeed and grow into the future.

The first benefit of buying unique content for your website is that you do not have to write your own articles. Not only does this save you time but it also gives your website a fresh perspective and a different style that can only serve to enhance what you already have going.

This allows you to concentrate on what you do best, (run the website), and allows a professional writer to focus on what he or she does best, (which is provide interesting content). It’s a win/win scenario.
The next advantage of buying unique content for your website is that you can get specific content at your direction from a writer who can go into depth and provide you with the details that you need but do not have the time to get for yourself because of your many other duties running the business.
Another strong idea is to build a team of writers that provide your website with unique content on a regular basis. By bringing in as many skilled writers as you can you will have a website that offers different points of view, different perspectives, and different styles that will appeal to a broader audience.
Buying unique content has become the norm with online businesses that are growing. Unique content is one of the key ingredients to any successful online business model.
A great way to get the most for your dollars spent on buying unique content is to shop around at different websites. Even those unrelated to yours, and see how they go about business and their content offered. You can learn an awful lot from other successful websites and then incorporate these ideas into your own.
Another good idea for when you buy unique content is to “go social” and put some of yours on such places as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other mediums that are becoming more popular. If you spread your word and unique content into more areas you will get more attention and more business for yourself.

In today’s evolving business scene, Internet marketing has found immense importance. All businesses need web promotion of products and services on the Internet. Search engine marketing (SEM) is one part of Internet marketing wherein one seeks to promote their website by ensuring increased visibility in search engines.

SEM, as a website marketing tool comprises of the following services: Search engine optimization (SEO), paid placement, contextual advertising and paid inclusion.

Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft are SEM vendors and offer plans like paid advertising and pay per click plans. While the aim is to increase website traffic, the tools followed can be many starting with keyword-based content, link building, paid search, and social media.

Ever wondered what drives searchers, or what keywords got them to your site? Analytics software can help you to get inside your visitors’ mind. Adding analytics to your website is one of the first things to do when you start an SEM campaign.

This will tell you of the right keywords to use when finalizing your content and deciding on the keywords your paid advertising will concentrate on. Google analytics is a great free tool to use.

Tracking site traffic is very important. Always keep track of what pages are being visited most by people. This will help you figure out which pages may need better content to attract and keep visitors. This will also tell you if your visitors are leading to conversions or not.

Blogging in an informal and simple style can go a long way in promoting your site. Setting up a blog with effective content and links to your site can help in sending organic traffic to your main site.

Link building is another effective SEM tool. You can create links from similar portals to your site based on keywords chosen to generate traffic. Correct keyword research will come handy here as well. Uploading articles on article directories with links to your website’s core pages is another way to get links.

Building quality content is essential to search marketing success. It will go a long way in helping you achieve high search engine rankings. Software like the Google Keyword Tool can help in finding the right keywords for your market.

Paid placement or paid advertisements always show up on the top of a search. These will come even above organic results and will attract user attention for sure. To ensure best results, always make sure you have a great and precise ad copy. Pay per click plans like Google Adwords are one of the most sought after tools of promotion today.

These are just some of the tips you can follow to ensure your search engine marketing is effective. While these tips provide a solid foundation for search marketers, some businesses will need help implementing these concepts. If that describes you, Certified Marketers can help.

Rapid advancement in web based and media technology is playing an important role in internet marketing. With millions of people across the world logging on to the Web, it has become easy for companies to advertise their products. In today’s evolving marketplace, there’s no reason for a company not to invest in a great website.

What keeps most people from establishing a presence on the web is either not wanting to learn how to build a website themselves, or not knowing how to hire a reliable Website Designer. In this article, you’ll learn the things to look for when hiring your own Web Design Company or individual.

If you intend to launch your own website for your business or product then you need a reliable website designer to help you create a website that is unique and interesting.

A talented website designer is reliable, skilled, and is not only interesting but also creative. He or she will know exactly what you want and what you are looking for in a website.

Many web design or development businesses, which specialize in web designing, can be approached on the net. These companies have talented website designers on their payroll who will assist you in making your website not only user friendly but also one that attracts maximum traffic.

If you are planning to engage an individual web designer then check out their credentials and find out how many successful projects they have executed so far.

Take time to go check out their completed projects on the web by visiting the websites. If you find their work to be satisfactory then you can think of hiring him or her, as you know they will be reliable.

All website designers should be proficient in the latest technologies that are used to build websites with ASP, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and Flash. It is these technologies that will help create a truly unique and attractive website design. They should also be well versed in logo and identity design with technical skills in Photoshop, Corel Draw, HTML, XHTML, and CSS.

Overall, I advise sticking to established web development companies that you find on the internet. That way, you can view their personal site and portfolio online, as opposed to getting a name from a friend or out of the phone book.

While you can find many reliable independent website designers, it’s usually better to go with a full web development company. In general, companies will have more experienced web designers and if you are not satisfied with the work, they will always be willing to get you another designer from their team to work on your project.

Regardless of whether you choose a company or individual, the website designer should know and understand what you want and be able to deliver it exactly the way you want. At Certified Marketers, our team aims to provide quality websites for an affordable price.
